Gamba ZambaRole: Strategy, Claiming
Design: Sonnenstaub

Brief: Create a friendly, consumer-facing brand for data-driven aquaponic shrimp farming.

Approach: We created a packaging design that put the shrimp front and center, breaking away from the sea of blue maritime depictions in supermarket freezers with a bright shrimp-pink backdrop. Acknowledging it was a bold choice, we A/B tested our design at various points of sale – to great success. Our design resonated strongly with a young, premium target group and won out in the end.

Claim:
I was tasked with developing a “catch” phrase that highlighted the brand's premium quality while raising awareness of its unique production method and ecological impact. The result: Nicht Meer. Nicht weniger.

Content: To highlight the significance of technology in setting our product apart, my approach was to simplify and diversify brand content to convey expertise (in production), passion (for cooking), and authenticity (in our mission to protect our oceans), thereby engaging with our community.
A challenge we faced was countering the common misconception that natural = better. In fact, aquaponic shrimp farming is more sustainable, less toxic, and, thanks to Gamba Zamba’s Smart Reef technology, creates an ideal environment for shrimp, making it much more animal-friendly and less invasive than conventional shrimp fishing. We highlighted this with fresh blue colors and another catch-y claim.
